Service Description

Eco-Tech Waterloo proudly offers a highly efficient and reliable Supervised Shred Service designed for the secure destruction of confidential information. This service ensures documents are thoroughly shredded into unrecognizable pieces, providing maximum security and peace of mind. Clients benefit from a dual-layer monitoring system, including surveillance cameras that track boxes from the front entrance to the shredding area, as well as a point-of-view (POV) camera providing a real-time view of the operator during shredding. For a starting fee of $40, clients may reserve a supervised shredding session. This supervision fee includes up to 5 bankers’ boxes (or 125 lbs.) of documents under controlled oversight. Booking Instructions 1 - Additional Boxes (only if needed) If you have more than 5 bankers’ boxes, select “Additional bankers’ boxes (CA$1)” and enter the number of boxes over the included 5. Example: 8 total boxes = add 3 additional boxes. 2 - Document Shredding Under Extra Services, select “Document Shredding – $10 per 25 lb. Box (CA$10)” and enter the total number of boxes requiring shredding. 3 - Optional Extra Services (if required) Add any additional destruction services as needed, including: Loose HDD/SSD Destruction (CA$10), Smartphone Crunching (CA$10), Portable/Flash Drive Shredding (CA$15), iPad/Tablet/Smartphone Shredding (CA$20), Laptop Shredding – Internal Battery (CA$25), Laptop Shredding – External Battery (CA$15). Important: Please ensure all applicable items are selected before completing your booking. Accurate selections ensure proper scheduling, resource allocation, and pricing, and help avoid the need for a separate invoice later. If you are unsure, please contact us before booking. For reference, images below show a typical box filled with approximately 25 lbs of documents, which is the standard used for shredding cost calculations. It is important to note that the $40 supervision fee covers up to 5 banker’s boxes or 125 lbs. An additional surcharge of $1 applies per extra banker’s box or 25 lbs to continue supervision. This fee is separate from Eco-Tech’s per-pound shredding rate. For example, shredding 4 banker’s boxes (100 lbs) would result in a total fee of $80, consisting of both the supervision fee ($40) and shredding fee ($40), allowing clients to accurately budget for this service.
